Almost every college professor requires a class textbook. But at Iowa State, professors actually write the textbooks they and professors at other colleges use. Take for example David Stuart, associate professor of music at Iowa State. His recently published textbook, "From Bakersfield to Beat Street – a Regional History of Rock 'n' Roll" examines the history of rock 'n' roll through its origins until the 1990s, AND is used as a textbook in the history of rock 'n' roll course Stuart teaches. |
